Xavi Simons did not train with RB Leipzig on Friday and is not expected to be part of the squad for Saturday’s game against Atalanta according to Fabrizio Romano.

Chelsea are in negotiations with Leipzig over a move for the 22-year-old, with the Bundesliga outfit said to want a total package of £60m.

The Dutchman is said to want to join Chelsea, despite interest from Bayern Munich, and the Blues are said to be close to reaching a verbal agreement with Simons.

The Dutch international removed Leipzig from his Instagram bio in a clear message he wants to leave, but a club to club agreement is yet to be reached.

He took to X.com and said:

Inter stepping up interest in Nkunku

With Chelsea looking to bring Simons in, Christopher Nkunku looks set to be the next attacker to leave Stamford Bridge.

Nkunku is expected to depart this summer, with Chelsea said to have set their asking price at £43.3m for the 27-year-old.

Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are said to be interested, but it’s believed Inter Milan are starting to work on a deal, although Chelsea are yet to receive any official offers for Nkunku.
