Chelsea are not planning to pursue a move for AC Milan star Rafael Leao despite being linked with the attacker according to Ben Jacobs.
The Blues are gearing up for another busy summer and could fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
There’s set to be plenty of movement in the wide areas this summer with Noni Madueke linked with a move away, whilst Chelsea are yet to take a final decision on if they will keep Jadon Sancho.
It’s unclear when or if Mykhailo Mudryk will play for the club again after a positive doping test, whilst Estevao Willian will arrive this summer, with Geovany Quenada arriving in 2026.
Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Nico Williams and are said to be leading the race for Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

There have also been links to Portugal international Leao, but Jacobs has now provided an update on Chelsea’s interest.
He took to X.com and said:
“Links with Milan’s Rafael Leão are wide of the mark. Not a player Chelsea plan to pursue.”
The 25-year-old is under contract with the Serie A side until 2028 and scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions this season.
Leao has clear talent and ability, but again struggles for consistency and being one of Milan’s star players he would likely command a high fee.

Chelsea clearly don’t see him as the right fit for the club and arguably that is the right decision, and for the money Leao might potentially cost the Blues could use that better elsewhere.
Enzo Maresca is said to want five wingers in his squad next season, and it will be interesting to see which wide player Chelsea end up signing.
