Norwich are looking to bolster their midfielder with a move for the Serbian international.

Norwich City are eyeing up a move for Famalicao midfielder Mirko Topic.

Liam Manning has already added Mathias Kvistgaarden, Jacob Wright, Vladan Kovačević, Jakov Medic, Harry Darling, Louie Moulden and Daniel Grimshaw to his ranks during the summer window.

The Canaries will be aiming to return to the top six next year under their new boss, after finishing a disappointing 13th in the Championship last term.

However, the early signs on the recruitment front are strong indeed, with the Carrow Road faithful potentially having a very exciting season in store for them in 2025/26.

Norwich City keen on Mirko Topic transfer

With Manning looking to add some extra strength in depth to his midfield, he has turned his sights to the Portuguese market.

According to Portuguese sports news outlet O Jogo, Norwich are preparing to make a move for Famalicao midfielder Mirko Topic, after holding a keen interest in the midfielder.

The Canaries have also been linked with a transfer for Silkeborg's Pelle Mattsson, who is a similar profile to the Serbian international Topic.

However, it is believed that the Norfolk side are only in the market for one operator at the base of the engine room, which means that a move for Topic would rule out a swoop for the Dane.

The report suggests that Famalicao president Miguel Ribeiro is preparing for an approach from Norwich in the coming days.

Topic featured 33 times in the Portuguese top tier last term, during what was his second season with his current employers.

Prior to that, the 24-year-old played for Serbian outfit Vojvodina, the club he enjoyed his footballing education with.

The defensive midfielder made his debut for the Serbian national team in January 2023, and has featured four times for the Eagles since.

Mirko Topic would be another strong move for Norwich City

After a less-than-impressive 2024/25 campaign, fans at Carrow Road have good reason to be excited about the upcoming season.

Prying Manning from the grasp of Bristol City was a real statement of intent, and their business has consisted of experienced EFL operators and exciting new talent.

Topic would fall into the latter category, but has played consistently in the Portuguese top flight over the past two seasons, so wouldn’t be coming into the Championship under-experienced.

He has been one of Famalicao’s top performers over that time, which has naturally brought forward interest from across the continent.

If Norwich get this deal over the line, it would be another strong move in a series of solid signings this summer, and would only serve to further bolster their play-off credentials ahead of what could be a real resurgent campaign at Carrow Road next season.
