Paris Saint-Germain secured their spot in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals with a dramatic 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in Atlanta - despite finishing the match with just nine men on the pitch.

The first half was high-paced and packed with chances, with Bayern looking the stronger side for large spells. They had the ball in the net twice before the break, but both goals were correctly ruled out for offside. At the other end, PSG had a couple of clear-cut chances of their own, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia tormenting Bayern’s defence, though Manuel Neuer stood firm.

However, the biggest talking point of the first 45 was the injury to Jamal Musiala just before half-time. The young midfielder appeared to seriously damage his foot in a collision with Gigi Donnarumma and left the pitch in visible pain - with both teams visibly shaken by the incident.

The second half saw the game explode into life. PSG opened the scoring in the 78th minute when João Neves robbed Bayern high up the pitch and teed up Désiré Doué, who slotted calmly past Neuer for 1-0.

But the chaos wasn’t done. Just two minutes later, Willian Pacho received a straight red for PSG, followed shortly by Lucas Hernández getting his marching orders too.

Down to nine men, the French side somehow found the energy for a stunning counter-attack: Vitinha surged forward, played in Ousmane Dembélé, and the Frenchman smashed one off the bar. Hakimi then kept the play alive and set Dembélé up again - this time, no mistake. 2-0, game over.

There was late VAR drama when Bayern were awarded a penalty, only for the decision to be overturned after replays showed Nuno Mendes got the ball cleanly. Leon Goretzka came close with a header, but it wasn’t to be for the Germans.

PSG march on to the semis, but with suspensions and tired legs, they'll have plenty to worry about. Bayern, meanwhile, leave Atlanta frustrated, wounded, and without one of their brightest stars in Musiala for the foreseeable future.
