AZ are losing David Møller Wolfe to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to reports from Simon Zwartkruis and Tim van Duijn for Voetbal International. The left-back reportedly left the Alkmaar club around the time of the doubleheader against Ilves and is facing a move to the Premier League.
Møller Wolfe wasn’t included in Maarten Martens’ matchday squad for the second qualifying round of the Conference League. The 23-year-old Norwegian left-back is continuing his career in England and will soon be boarding a plane to complete his transfer to the Premier League outfit.
It was previously believed that Møller Wolfe was on his way to Lille. However, a move to the Ligue 1 club fell apart as Wolves reached an agreement with AZ. The Alkmaar side received a fee of around 12 million euros for Møller Wolfe, who still had three years left on his contract.
This transfer is the latest blockbuster for AZ. So far this window, the club have already sold Ruben van Bommel to PSV for 15 million euros, while Jayden Addai went to Como for 14 million. Møller Wolfe will have to compete with Hugo Bueno for Rayan Ait-Nouri’s vacant left-back spot at Wolves. Bueno also boasts Eredivisie experience after spending last season on loan at Feyenoord.
