Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has dismissed Randal Kolo Muani as the type of striker he’s looking for.

Instead, a recent report suggests that Enrique is focusing on another forward who aligns with his vision. However, there’s a hurdle in pursuing this player, as several other clubs are also interested.

Fichajes reported that Enrique views Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak as a key target for PSG. The Swedish striker’s speed, technical ability, and finishing had impressed the Spanish coach, aligning well with the attacking system he aimed to implement in Paris.

Meanwhile, Barcelona also have shown interest in Isak. According to TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, the Catalan club had sent scouts to watch the forward, including during the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal.

On the Back Pages podcast, Ornstein shared that Arteta is a big fan of Isak, but bringing in the Sweden international during the middle of the season could be challenging.

“They’ve been linked with Dusan Vlahovic,” Ornstein said (h/t Give Me Sport). “My latest information is that’s not looking like one that Arsenal are going to pursue, but let’s see how things go in the couple of weeks ahead with a number of options that I’m sure they’ll have.

“They like Benjamin Sesko historically, but I don’t expect him to move in this window. The real apple of their eye is Alexander Isak, certainly for Mikel Arteta. But we know how difficult that will be, if possible at all.”

Additionally, former Newcastle star Alan Shearer believes Isak’s value could exceed £150 million due to his impressive form. Shearer suggests that Chelsea might have an edge over Arsenal in the race to sign the forward, but he also advises the Blues to proceed with caution, as the price could continue to rise.
