Gunners can put pressure on Premier League title rivals with early kick-off
Arsenal head to Newcastle this afternoon with the chance to put pressure on their Premier League title rivals.
The Gunners ensured Liverpool could not open up a sizeable gap on them by securing a 2-2 draw last Sunday, though will no doubt have been disappointed not to have won having twice taking the lead.
Still, three points for Mikel Arteta’s side at St James’ Park would see them move within one point of the Reds as well as two off current leaders Manchester City and they warmed up for the journey with a 3-0 victory at Preston in the Carabao Cup.
Hosts Newcastle are a formidable opponent at home but have endured a difficult start to the season and last week lost 2-1 to Chelsea before getting their revenge against the Blues in a 2-0 Carabao Cup victory on Wednesday night.
Newcastle United vs Arsenal is scheduled for a 12.30pm GMT kick-off time today, Saturday, November 2, 2024.
St James’ Park in Newcastle will host.
TV channel: The game will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate.

Anthony Gordon returned for Newcastle on Wednesday after missing Sunday’s game and is available once more. Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles are all out.
The Gunners, meanwhile, are expected to be without Martin Odegaard, Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White along with long-term absentees Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney.
However, it was more positive on Gabriel, who is in contention to face the Magpies. Arteta said on Friday: “We have a training session today, if he can complete that, he will be available.”

St James’ Park can be a fortress at its best but Newcastle have been turgid for much of the season thus far, their win at second-string Chelsea in the Carabao Cup notwithstanding.
Arsenal will fancy their chances - as they always do - and are buoyed by being able to rest a number of players in midweek.
