The Daily Mail has reported that Newcastle United are getting ready for a £60 million bid in order to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. They have already had their first bid rejected in the ongoing January transfer window. Signing Mbeumo will be a massive deal for Newcastle United, but they will also face stiff competition from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Newcastle United want to sign Bryan Mbeumo

Brentford are not ready to let their player move in the middle of the ongoing season unless they receive a big offer that they can’t refuse. So, it is more likely that Newcastle will make the move in the upcoming summer transfer window. If he goes on to join the Magpies, then Alexander Isak will have a partner to share the goal-scoring duties.

He has appeared in 23 matches this season in the Premier League, playing a total of 2067 minutes. Mbeumo has scored 14 goals in 23 matches so far in the Premier League 2024/2025 season. 9 of the 14 goals were scored at home, while he scored five goals at away games.

Overall, Bryan Mbeumo’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.61. Moreover, Bryan Mbeumo’s total G/A (goals + assists) is 17 for this season. This has been a stunning performance so far this season and can be a very good signing for Newcastle United.

Why do they want him?

The 25-year-old is a dynamo on the wings and is recognized for his pace, directness, and remarkable work rate. His ability to score and assist from the right side, combined with his versatility to play across the front line, makes him incredibly valuable. Mbeumo’s technical skills, like his dribbling and crossing, add another dimension to any attack.

Newcastle United are interested in him as they need quality and depth on the right wing, especially with potential exits looming. His Premier League experience and current form at Brentford mean he could hit the ground running. The player would bring both creativity and goals to push Newcastle up the table.

Isak will have a partner in the form of Mbeumo, who will share the goal-scoring duties with him and help the club be more potent in attack. They are currently fifth in the position with 41 points in 24 games. It is unlikely that Brentford will accept the £60m bid in the mid-season, but if they do, then that will be a big boost for the Magpies in the remainder of the season.
