A Newcastle United official announcement on Thursday afternoon has revealed that Jamie Miley has left the club.

The midfielder agreeing a permanent move to Hartlepool United.

Earlier this season he spent time on loan at Newport County.

Newcastle United Academy graduate Jamie Miley has completed a permanent transfer to Hartlepool United.

The 21-year-old midfielder joins the National League side after returning from a loan spell at Newport County, where he made six appearances in League Two earlier this season.

Jamie first joined Newcastle United’s academy aged 11 and signed his first professional contract in 2022. He made first team appearances in successive pre-seasons under Eddie Howe, playing alongside his younger brother Lewis at Gateshead in 2023 and making starts against Hull City and Girona last summer.

Steve Harper, Newcastle United’s academy director, said: “This is a great opportunity at the right time for Jamie and I’m sure he’ll be a big success at Hartlepool.
