Great to hear about this Newcastle United success at Arsenal.

An official club release (see below) revealing that NUFC have win the Hale End Cup, in a competition held at the home of the Arsenal Academy.

The Newcastle United under 14s ending up victorious in the final analysis, as they also defeated both Blackburn Rovers and Hertha Berlin.

The official NUFC announcement also bringing news of other Newcastle United younger age groups flourishing as well.

When the new Newcastle United owners and Eddie Howe replaced the shambles that went before them, it was a case of having to pretty much rebuild an entire club at every level, after a decade and a half of neglect and no proper investment.

A very positive aspect of what is happening now, is that the Newcastle United set up is now trying to put the foundations in place to bring sustained success, investment in the NUFC Academy has been essential as part of that.

Newcastle United official announcement – 20 February 2025:

‘Newcastle United’s under-14s side won the 2025 Hale End Cup on Wednesday afternoon.

Newcastle’s youngsters won the competition, held at Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, after finishing top of a group involving the Gunners as well as Blackburn Rovers, Hertha Berlin, Toulouse and Avispa Fukuoka.

United kicked off the tournament with a 1-1 draw against the Japanese outfit before claiming victories against Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers, winning 1-0 and 3-1 respectively.

Despite a 1-0 loss against Toulouse, Gregg Ryder and Paul Hogg’s side responded in positive fashion after recording a crucial 3-1 win against Hertha Berlin, resulting in the young Magpies finishing top of Group A via goal difference on 10 points.

United goalkeeper Lucas Flack was also presented with the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.

Elsewhere, Newcastle’s under-13s are into the National Northern final of the Premier League Cup after wins against Manchester City and Aston Villa, with a final showdown against Manchester United.
