Newcastle United have rocked the transfer market with a dramatic move for RB Leipzig’s prolific forward Benjamin Šeško. Sources in Germany and England (in addition to the transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Florian Plettenberg) confirm:
The Magpies have tabled a formal offer worth €80 million up front plus a further €10 million in future add‑ons in a bid to secure the signature of the 22‑year‑old Slovenian!
Newcastle are very keen on securing the deal soon amid the speculations surrounding Alexander Isak's future. The only problem in their way: Manchester United.
Even though the Red Devils have not secured European football for the upcoming season, they reamain an attractive target for many players around the globe - Benjamin Šeško seems to be one of them.
Manchester United confirmed again to Leipzig, that they will bid for the striker, if he picks them as his next club.
However, Šeško has not yet decided where his future lies - the only thing certain at the moment, is that he will leave Leipzig this summer, after already missing their friendlies in pre-season.
If the €90 million deal goes over the line, Šeško would become Leipzig's most expensive departure in their history alongside Joško Gvardiol, who went to Manchester City for the exact same sum in 2023/24.
