Newcastle agree £55m fee for Elanga – latest transfer reports

Newcastle United have agreed a deal worth £55m with Nottingham Forest to sign Anthony Elanga.
Sky Sports report a deal has been agreed between both clubs, with Elanga set to fly to Newcastle to undergo a medical.
The 23-year-old Swedish international is understood to be excited to play for a club in the Champions League, with Eddie Howe’s side preparing for their return to Europe’s elite club competition. The Magpies have been quiet in the transfer window, with only youngster Antonio Cordero joining the club on a free transfer so far.
Elanga supplied the third most assists in the Premier League last season, only behind Jacob Murphy and Mohamed Salah.
One departure from Newcastle could be Sean Longstaff, with the Athletic saying Leeds United are pushing to complete a deal. The Whites are waiting to hear back from their third offer worth £10m for the 27-year-old, who would be Daniel Farke’s side’s fourth summer signing since gaining promotion.
Crystal Palace have agreed with a deal worth £3m for Croatian defender Borna Sosa from Ajax, who according to the Guardian, has been told by the Dutch side that he is not part of new manager John Heitinga’s plans.
Palace also remain in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a £45m deal for defender Ousmane Diomande, with the deal depending on the future of captain Marc Guehi.
Tuttosport say Manchester United are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this summer.
The 28-year-old Nigerian reportedly has a £9m relegation clause in his contract after the Foxes dropped back down to the Championship.
Rasmus Hojlund is not considering leaving Manchester United unless the club decide to sell him, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Inter Milan are one of the clubs to have shown an interest in the 22-year-old Danish forward, whose contract does not expire until 2028.
Finally Footmercato say that Leeds, Wolves and Sunderland are interested in Lens and Morocco Under-23 midfielder Neil El Aynaoui.
Italian sides AC Mlian, Juventus and AS Roma have also showed an interested in the 24-year-old, with Roma reported to have submitted a 20 million euro bid.
