Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that negotiations are going well for Chelsea to sign a £30m winger this window.

This news comes after Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Conference League a week ago today after being a goal down at half time and turning it around.

EXCLUSIVE!! ‘Good progress’ on Ekitike, #CFC negotiate lower Gittens fee, Felix trade deal possible, Grealish could help Rogers move!

The Blues ended up winning the game 4-1 in the end after a bit of a Cole Palmer masterclass in the second half, providing two beautiful assists for his team mates to grab crucial goals.

Although head coach Enzo Maresca is once again not willing to get carried away after this by insisting that Chelsea’s target for next season is not going to be winning the Champions League!

Chelsea are working on a few deals

The deals we are hearing most on right now is Mike Maignan from AC Milan, Hugo Ekitike of Frankfurt, and Jamie Gittens of Dortmund. These are the three deals that Chelsea are clearly working on and trying to get done very soon.

They’ve also been linked with a host of new centre backs and clearly want to sign at least one new one very soon, perhaps even before the Club World Cup starts. Chelsea are busy, Chelsea are going nuts!

Gittens to Chelsea latest

Romano has the latest on Gittens to Chelsea now, and he believes that they could get him for closer to £30m instead of the quoted £50m.

As cited on X last night, Romano said on Gittens:

“Negotiations are going well for Chelsea and Jamie Gittens. A first bid is expected soon, more than £30m with a little bonus to try and reach an agreement with Dortmund.”

Sounds like it’s moving forwards then.
