Napoli have not given up on signing Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho before the end of the transfer window.

The Parthenopeans’ attack has been weakened following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain.

Napoli want Garnacho to replace the Georgian to boost their chances of winning the league title for the fourth time in the club’s history.

They submitted an initial offer, which was rejected, and are now ready to test United’s resolve with an improved bid.

The Italian club are ready to pay £47.9 million plus £5.9m in bonuses for Garnacho, according to Tuttosport (via TuttoMercatoWeb).

It is reportedly their ‘last concrete attempt to try everything and bring the Argentine starlet to Diego Armando Maradona’.

Napoli’s new offer would still be short of United’s valuation. The Red Devils want £58.9m for the right-footed winger.

If United accept their offer, the Serie A giants may not have difficulty reaching a personal agreement with Garnacho.

The Argentine is prioritising a move to Napoli over Chelsea, who have also been linked with him but have yet to step up their interest.

Garnacho’s departure would help Man United bolster their attack. They are considering a loan move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel.

However, they risk missing out on Tel as Bayern have a verbal agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

They have also been credited with a loan move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, who wants to leave Stamford Bridge this month.

Man United can use the proceeds from Garnacho’s sale to sign either Nkunku or Tell permanently.
