Dan Ndoye was a hot commodity in January and last summer, when Napoli, Manchester United, and Inter took turns in tracking him, but he and Bologna agreed to continue together, which has been highly beneficial.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Felsinei have always valued him more than the offers he fetched. It won’t be easy to convince them to sell him in the next window either. The Partenopei were easily rebuffed when they tendered €20M during the winter. He wasn’t a primary target for them at the time. They prioritized Alejandro Garnacho and Karim Adeyemi.
Napoli and Manchester United will likely to go after Ndoye again in a few months. He’s worth at least €30M for his side. Instead, Inter tracked him while the future of Denzel Dumfries was hanging in the balance. He has renewed in the meantime. They are pursuing Olympique Marseille’s Luis Henrique in that role now.
The 24-year-old paid his dues at Lausanne-Sport and Nice, which are controlled by INEOS, like the Red Devils. He’s having the most prolific campaign of his career, having tallied 8 goals and 5 assists in 36 matches.
He’s always been brilliant in Serie A, and he has gotten past the main knock against him, which was that he didn’t score a lot. He could play as a wing-back given his stamina, but he’s a full-fledged attacker at this point. It’d be a pity to burden him with excessive defensive tasks. As always, Bologna will be in for an interesting summer, as they’ll sell one or two mainstays, but they can choose which one.
