FC Nantes are determined to keep hold of Matthis Abline (22) this summer, despite significant interest from several clubs, as per a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
Olympique de Marseille have already submitted a bid for the forward, currently on international duty with the France U21s. However, this bid, thought to be worth around €15m, as per L’Équipe, was rejected. Nantes’ president, Waldemar Kita, has since given a warning to OM that they would have to pay €50m to sign Abline. That price tag only applies to Marseille and is the result of tensions between the two clubs. Kita did not appreciate how OM secured the signings of two of his former players: Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin.
The price tag would perhaps be lower for the likes of Brentford, Burnley, Sunderland, and Lille OSC, all of whom are also interested in the player. However, Toubache-Ter understands Nantes are absolutely determined to keep Abline, who only joined the club on a permanent deal last summer from Stade Rennais for €10m.
