Former Roma man Radja Nainggolan looked back on his career in an interview with Italian journalist Francesca Teodori.
When asked about the most special club in his life, Nainggolan did not hesitate in pointing to the Giallorossi.
“I went to Roma by my own choice, I was very respected there. Walter Sabatini wanted me already in June, but it fell through, it only happened in January when I signed a blank contract!”
“In Cagliari they welcomed me well, but perhaps Roma was the only club that really understood me as a man. They were two very similar experiences even though the objectives were different.”
“I grew up on the streets and without a father, so as a child I did some wrong things, things I would never do again. I brought my character into the world of football, the fact that I don’t want to let anyone walk all over me.”
“I may seem bad on the pitch, but I’m not. In Cagliari I received 13/14 warnings a year, which in Rome became only 5 or 6, with time I matured.”
