AC Milan are looking at Roberto De Zerbi as a potential managerial candidate for their ‘relaunch’, but his reaction to a question today may be a sign.
With the current lie of the land at Milan, drastic changes are needed and expected in the upcoming few months, and that starts with a new sporting director, following them though, will be the appointment of a new head coach.
There have been multiple names linked to the job, given its profile, but there are seemingly only four candidates being considered, with the club looking to go down an Italian route.
One of those coaches reportedly involved in the candidacy is De Zerbi, who is currently facing some issues in France. Today, he spoke about the links, via Milan News.
“Everyone is free to say what they want. No one has called me, no team. As I have always done, I don’t talk or flirt with any team. My intention is to stay here for many years. Marriages are made in twos, we’ll see how the season ends.
“The news about AC Milan? I said it wasn’t true emphatically. I haven’t spoken to anyone and I’m not talking to anyone.”
Of course, we must take this with a pinch of salt, as a head coach will not say they are outwardly joining another club in these circumstances, however, it might not bode well.
