Continuous strides forward, match after match, in a month consisting only of victories. Out of the four contenders to win the March MVP award, Rafael Leão has come out on top after receiving the most votes from the Rossoneri fans on acmilan.com. It's his second such award this season: previously, he was named as AC Milan's best performer in September.

March was the month where Rafa reached double figures in all competitions in terms of goals - eleven, thanks to his fantastic finishes away to Slavia Praha and Fiorentina - and assists (again eleven, after setting up teammates to score against the Czechs and the Viola). In short, Rafa has been racking up great numbers and producing brilliant performances. A decisive figure, he has helped the team raise its level.

In the month just gone, Rafa reached a significant milestone as he played his 200th game in Rossoneri colours. A big number that only serves to underline his importance to this side. Away from the pitch, the Portuguese man also made headlines by wearing a wristband given to him by a youngster in our Youth Sector.

It's not the first time that Leão's performance levels have improved over the course of the season. Great champions step it up as the months go by, and individual matches become increasingly important. And this is exactly what Leão has shown himself to be in March: a champion. He's a leader, an inspirational figure, and someone who can change matches at any moment. He also constantly contributes to Rossoneri victories through his goals and assists. Well done, Rafa!
