Following an impressive start to the SWPL season with a 2-1 win over Hearts, next up for the Ghirls, it is a return to their home pitch on Sunday, as they gear up for their first home match against Hamilton Accies.
Although this weekend’s visitors suffered an opening day defeat, they were unfortunate not to take something from a closely contested match against Partick Thistle.
That is something that Cross insists the squad are well aware of, and will be prepared for come Sunday.
The winger also stated that she and her team-mates can’t wait to be back playing in front of a home Celtic support.
After being reunited with the Celtic faithful on their travels last week, it will be a good feeling to be back playing in front of the home crowd.
“Obviously, it will be good to be back at home this Sunday,” she said. “We’ve spoken about it as a team, and how we are all really looking forward to getting back out there in front of our fans.
“We know it won’t be easy because Hamilton Accies will be a test. They have just come up and want to show what they are made of.
“I think you seen that from their first game. They ran Partick Thistle really close, so they will take confidence from that, even though the result maybe didn’t go their way.
“But with us, it’s always about focusing on ourselves. We want to go out there, play our football and try pick up another three points at the start of the season.
'Of course, it will be really nice to be back out in front of the fans at home for the first time this season too.'
“They showed us their amazing support last week against Hearts, and that always plays a big part.
“So, to able to have that support at home will be brilliant, and we are all just really looking forward to that one on Sunday.”
