Liverpool continued their perfect start to the 2025 /26 Premier League season with hard fought 1 - 0 victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Salah kept quiet by Arsenal’s defence

Mohamed Salah started and played the full 90 minute but endured frustrating night against Mikel Arteta’s well drilled defence. Early in the first half, Gabriel denied him clear chance with crucial header while appeals for fouls in the 20 and 42 minute went unheeded by the referee.

Salah created danger on the right flank including left footed effort in the 68 minute that Raya gathered. Another strike minute later lacked power while Declan Rice blocked later attempt.

The Egyptian’s stats reflected his struggles:

  • 32 touch
  • 12/20 passes completed (60% accuracy) one ground duel won from three and one aerial duel won from three

Performance under scrutiny

According to Sofascore, Salah received 6.3/10 rating. He lost possession 15 time but won one free kick in tight contest that saw him well marked throughout.
