MLS transfer deadline day has come and gone and there were a number of deals of note, some of which were not announced until the next morning.

Let's dig into some of those deals that could reshape the remainder of the season.

Minnesota United sign Joaquín Pereyra from Atlético Tucumán

The Loons wrapped up a deal for Atlético Tucumán midfielder Joaquín Pereyra, signing the 25-year-old to three-and-a-half-year Designated Player contract.

Pereyra scored four goals and recorded 14 assists in 117 appearances across all competitions in three years with the Argentine club, and should provide some much-needed stability to Eric Ramsay's midfield.

Charlotte FC sign midfielder Pep Biel from Olympiacos

Charlotte announced the signing of attacking midfielder Pep Biel from Olympiacos on loan until December 31, 2024, while picking up an option to buy the 27-year-old at the end of the loan.

Biel joins Dean Smith's side after scoring 12 goals and eight assists in 59 matches with the Greek outfit, but is most known for a prolific 2021/22 season with Danish side FC Copenhagen, where he bagged 18 goals and 15 assists all competitions.

Charlotte's summer window was a tumultuous one, as they saw deals for both Calvin Stengs and Miguel Almíron collapse. But the addition of Biel to the burgeoning attacking duo of Patrick Agyemang and Kerwin Vargas could make Charlotte a sneaky dark horse in the dying weeks of the season.

FC Cincinnati acquire Nicholas Gioacchini on loan from Serie A club Como

Pat Noonan's side have added some much-needed depth to their forward line, signing former St. Louis City forward Nicholas Gioacchini on loan from Como.

The American has hardly played for the Serie A outfit, but did feature heavily for St. Louis in the 2023 campaign, scoring 10 goals in 32 appearances.

"We’re excited to welcome Niko to Cincinnati,” said Cincinnati GM Chris Albright. "He is an excellent teammate with high character who will provide a versatile presence on our front line. He knows how to compete in our league and is committed to helping us fight for trophies this season. We look forward to him joining our group.”

New York Red Bulls sign midfielder Felipe Carballo from Grêmio

The New Jersey club have added the midfielder to their squad as a Designated Player, signing the Uruguayan on loan with an option to buy.

Carballo was named Uruguayan Primera División Player of the Year in 2022, and should turn the Red Bulls' midfield into a potential powerhouse as they look to build a spine worthy of contending in the Eastern Conference.

While the Grêmio man looks like a shrewd pickup from the NYRB front office, the deal may have only as a result of former Everton man Jean-Philippe Gbamin failed his medical after agreeing to join the club.
