Tijjani Reijnders’ recent form at Milan has drawn interest from European giants such as Manchester City and Barcelona, but the Rossoneri are extremely confident that they’ll soon strike a deal to keep the player at the San Siro.

The 26-year-old joined the Diavolo in 2023 on a deal worth €20m, and he’s far from being among the team’s top earners.

With a salary of €1.7m per season, the club feels there’s a risk he could be tempted to look elsewhere to get better offers, which is why they want to move in advance and hand him a contract extension to fend off interest from the midfielder admirers, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

Milan confident of keeping Reijnders by doubling his wage

According to Rossoneri expert Daniele Longo, of calciomercato.com, Milan have ‘great confidence’ about the possibility of renewing Reijnders’ contract, with a new deal that would see his current wage doubled at €3.5m.

Reijnders’ transfer market value has almost tripled and is now close to €60m, but the Rossoneri are not open to letting him go, especially after his displays drastically improved during this start to the season under coach Paulo Fonseca.

The midfielder’s contract extension is just one of the deals Milan are considering extending to keep their best players, as also Mike Maignan, Matteo Gabbia and Theo Hernandez are reportedly in talks over their renewal.
