La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani needs more time to name a new sporting director, despite having held several meetings with Igli Tare.
Milan are not expected to name a new sporting director before mid-May, according to recent reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Milan CEO Furlani has met Tare several times in recent weeks, but according to Gazzetta, this doesn’t mean the ex-Lazio director is necessarily the favourite for the role.

Milan were expected to name a director of sport after Easter, but Saturday’s printed edition of Gazzetta (page 10) claims the Rossoneri need more time.
Giovanni Sartori (Bologna), Giovanni Manna (Napoli) and mostly Atalanta’s Tony D’Amico are all on the Milan agenda, and it’s probably no coincidence that Furlani needs more time, given that they are all under contract with other Serie A sides.
This means the Rossoneri CEO will need longer to negotiate with them and their clubs.
According to the latest Gazzetta report, Milan will name their new sporting director in the second part of May, although it can’t be ruled out that they’ll keep the current club structure if they don’t find an adequate candidate.
