Filippo Inzaghi has admitted that AC Milan continue to remain a big part of his life and that he hopes to see them back on the big stage soon.
Inzaghi won two UEFA Champions League titles (2003, 2007), and two Serie A titles (2004, 2011) while with the Rossoneri, and he is Milan’s top goal scorer in terms of European and international competitions with 43 goals. He also holds the record for most hat-tricks in Serie A with 10.
Pippo will face off against his beloved Milan next season given that he got Pisa promoted into Serie A as they finished runners-up to Sassuolo. He has of course coached the Diavolo too, back in 2014-15, but will be in the opposition dugout in 2025-26.
Inzaghi gave an interview to Corriere della Sera in which he spoke about the promotion of Pisa to Serie A and his brother Simone, who will coach another Champions League final at the helm of Inter. He also spoke about Milan, with his comments relayed by MilanPress.
“I am and remain a Rossoneri fan, Milan is my life and I would always like to see it in the running for every objective. I hope that next year will be the year of the Devil, Europe is the stage they deserve.”
On Ancelotti’s new adventure as Brazil coach, he added: “When he first suggested the idea of coaching Brazil, I pushed him to accept, because it would have been the icing on the cake of a wonderful career. Now I dream of a World Cup final between Italy and Brazil.”
