Arsenal secured a convincing 3-0 Premier League home win over Nottingham Forest yesterday.

The Gunners were on a four-match winless streak in the top flight, and they responded perfectly with a resounding performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Forest failed to muster a single shot on target, and manager Mikel Arteta will be delighted.

However, he will likely make changes for the upcoming Champions League game against Sporting CP.

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, Declan Rice and Thomas Partey all started on the bench. Three of them were unused substitutes against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Gabriel Jesus could be one of those dropped after an underwhelming display.

The Brazilian international got the surprise nod to lead the attack, but he was probably the worst player on the pitch, as he struggled to provide an attacking threat.

Jesus linked up play well with 22 out of 26 passes completed. However, he won just two out of nine duels.

The 27-year-old also lost possession on eight occasions and quite often on the counter-attack. He had room to run but slowed down and was dispossessed.

He is lacking confidence leading the line at the moment, and it appears a no-brainer decision to replace him with Havertz for the trip to Lisbon.

The German has scored just one goal since the last international break, but he was superb on international duty with two goal contributions in the Nations League.

Arsenal are two points behind the top eight in the Champions League. They face a tough challenge against Sporting, who are one of the in-form teams in Europe.

Havertz’s aerial presence up front should be handy. Rice, Martinelli and Partey should also be reinstated into the starting XI for Tuesday night’s showdown.
