Mika Faye injury update before Barcelona vs Real Madrid | OneFootball

An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona defender Mikayil Faye has on Wednesday come to the fore online.

This comes after the youngster was forced to sit out his 2nd pre-season friendly in succession.

Owing to a fitness problem suffered in training, Faye, first, played no part last week, as Barcelona kicked their pre-season fixture list into gear in a meeting with UE Olot.

The hope, initially, was that the Senegalese would return in time to play at least some part in the Blaugrana’s ensuing outing, against Manchester City in the early hours of Wednesday.

In the end, however, this did not prove to be the case.

So, what is Faye’s status for this coming weekend’s Clásico showdown with Real Madrid?

In news which will no doubt be met with excitement on the part of the Barca faithful, the expectation is that the 20-year-old will ultimately be deemed fit to feature.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Hansi Flick is prepared to have him play in the Clásico against Real Madrid next Saturday – early Sunday morning (01:00 h.) – in the match that will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.’
