MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship concluded on Sunday with the League A Final and Third Place Match at the FCRF Federation Fields in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Costa Rica 3 (4)-(3) 3 Panama

League A hosts Costa Rica secured a third-place finish by defeating Panama 4-3 in penalties in the Third Place Match after an initial 3-3 draw in regulation.

Costa Rica pulled ahead in the 7’, with Ismael López capping off a standout team play with a first time left footed hit to the far post.

Sebastián Cantón doubled the lead for Los Ticos in the 17’, heading home a free kick delivery into the box from Jefrey Urbina.

Immediately after in the 18’, Urbina made an interception just outside the opponent’s box before finding the back of the net to further extend the lead for Costa Rica.

Neir Marrugo cut one back for Panama in the 24’ after a scramble inside the box following a corner.

Emanuel Rodríguez struck again for Los Canaleros in the 31’, scoring with a stunning finish to the top left corner.

Costa Rica was forced to complete the match a player down after Kendall Alegría received a red card in the 35+5’.

José Preciado equalized for Panama in the 52’ through a header on a corner kick opportunity.

The winner ultimately would be determined in a penalty shootout.

Costa Rica prevailed 4-3 in penalties to secure its third-place finish in the tournament.

Goalkeeper Sebastián Leiva made a crucial intervention by stopping Panama’s third attempt. Panama’s fourth kicker then missed, before Yordi Alfaro converted the winning penalty in the shootout.

Mexico 5-0 United States

Mexico was victorious 5-nil against the United States in the Final in League A to lift a record second title.

Mexico put on an exhibition in attack with four first half goals. Best Player Award winner Juan Carlos Martínez Jr. opened the scoring in the 16’ with a half-volley from inside the box.

Paxon Ruffin, who also scored in the Semifinals, doubled the lead in the 20’ with a finish to the bottom left corner from a tight angle.

Golden Boot Winner Da’vian Kimbrough tallied his sixth goal of the tournament in the 22’, before Martínez Jr. sealed his brace in the match in the 24’ for El Tricolor to lead 4-nil.

Lisandro Torres rounded out the victory for Mexico with a long-range thunderbolt to the top right corner in the 65’.
