MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship continued on Saturday with the League A semifinals and playoffs at the FCRF Federation Fields in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

The top two teams from Groups A and B competed in the League A Semifinals. The remaining teams in the groups will played one additional match to determine their final position in the competition.

Semifinals

Mexico 2-1 Costa Rica

Group A winners Mexico earned a 2-nil win over League A hosts Costa Rica.

Mexico took the lead in the 10’ through a powerful finish from the center of the box from Da’vian Kimbrough, who raised his tally to five in the tournament.

El Tricolor doubled its lead in the 23’, with Paxon Ruffin taking advantage of a loose ball inside the box to score his second goal of the campaign.

Ismael López converted from the spot in the 52’ to cut one back for Costa Rica.

Panama 2 (5)-(6) 2 United States

Defending champions United States defeated Panama in penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation.

Panama took an early lead in the 1’, with Jasio Jordan placing the ball at the right post.

USA levelled the scoring in the 14’ through a thunderbolt to the top-right corner from Niccolo Vafiades.

Vafiades capitalized on a rebound inside the box in the 17’ to secure his brace and turn the scoreline around for the reigning champions.

Mauro Ortega equalized for Panama right before the half in the 34’ with a towering header, with Alexander Tull providing the assist on the play.

The second half presented a hard-fought battle in search of a winner, but the winner ultimately would be determined in a penalty shootout.

USA prevailed 6-5 in the penalty shoutout to advance to the final and have the opportunity of securing back-to-back U-15 Championship titles. Goalkeeper Emmanuel Arias made a crucial save, before Olatimoni Gbalajobi converted the winning penalty in the shootout.

Playoffs

Honduras 1-3 Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia closed out its run in the tournament with a 3-1 win over Honduras.

Saudi Arabia took the lead in the 24’ through a penalty converted by captain Tamim Al Khaldi.

Honduras equalized shortly after in the 27’ with a goal from Jean Rubí.

Yazan Alabdurabalnbi struck in the 54’ for Saudi Arabia to reclaim its lead, before Meshari Alshahrani rounded out the result in the 57’.

Canada 3-0 El Salvador

Canada secured a 3-nil shutout win against El Salvador.

Canada took the lead with two first-half goals, with John Alexis scoring in the 20’ and Hunter MacGowan in the 27’.

Ethan Reid further extended the lead for the Reds in the 66’ for the definitive scoreline.
