Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie caused shockwaves when changing his Facebook profile picture to him in a Manchester United jersey, but it seems he was hacked.

The USMNT star briefly appeared to drop a massive hint that he was changing club this summer, as the profile image on his official Facebook page switched to his smiling face wearing the Manchester United shirt.

It only lasted for a few minutes, but was spotted enough to spark hundreds of comments and shares.

According to reports, McKennie’s account was hacked and a similar attempt was made on his Instagram page, but he was able to prevent that.

By the end of the hour, McKennie had been able to switch the profile picture back to his usual version in the Juventus jersey.

McKennie committed to Juventus

The 25-year-old joined Juve from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2020 for €25m and last season had a brief six-month spell in the Premier League on loan to Leeds United.

His contract with the Bianconeri runs to June 2025.
