The exclusion of Mats Hummels, probably intentional and full of tension, is one of the most discussed cases since the beginning of the season.
Despite the absence of N’Dicka, the German defender remained on the bench during the match against Union Saint-Gilloise, while coach Ivan Juric opted for Cristante in the center of defense.
A choice that surprised the entire Giallorossi environment, hoping to finally see the experienced centerback on the pitch.
At this point, a possible separation between Hummels and Roma already in the winter transfer market seems increasingly likely.
This time too, Juric confirmed his decision: when he announced the lineup in the hotel, many players reacted with incredulity to the news of Cristante in defense and Hummels out.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport, the choice was confirmed, and the award-winning German defender, protagonist of the Champions League final only five months ago, remained on the bench even in the absence of N’Dicka and Hermoso.
The situation now seems clear, and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi can no longer ignore the existence of the problem.
A farewell may have taken place in Brussels: in January, Hummels could leave Roma and return to the Bundesliga, where several teams are ready to welcome him for the rest of the season.
