Following the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (36) and Igor Paixão (25) this week, Olympique de Marseille are pushing forward with their transfer window. According to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Les Olympiens are making good progress in discussions with Club Brugge over a potential deal for Joel Ordóñez (21).
The Ecuadorian centre-back is under contract in Belgium until 2027, and is viewed as a long-term prospect and potential reinforcement for Roberto De Zerbi’s defensive options. Despite his limited first-team experience with Brugge, Ordóñez is considered highly promising and has already represented Ecuador at youth level.Classique rivals Paris Saint-Germain previously shortlisted the defender back in May – although it is not known if interest from the capital club still remains for the young defender.Marseille have already sealed the arrivals of Lens defender Facundo Medina, and England U21 international CJ Egan-Riley in the same position, but are actively looking for at least one more central defender before the end of the transfer window.
