Since the reduction of his doping ban from four years to just 18 months, there has been a great deal of speculation as to where Paul Pogba (31) will be playing his football come March 2025, the month in which the Frenchman will legally be allowed to continue his football career.

Olympique de Marseille are one of the club’s most strongly linked with the midfielder, who saw his contract at Juventus terminated by mutual consent last month. Patrice Evra has been public in trying to lobby for Pogba to join OM, whilst former club and international teammate Adrien Rabiot “invited” the former Manchester United midfielder to join him at the Vélodrome.

RMC Sport understands that there is a reciprocal interest between OM and Pogba, who is looking to remain in one of Europe’s top five divisions and is also open to playing in Ligue 1. However, Marseille’s interest is not yet concrete, as confirmed by club president Pablo Longoria.

Marseille keeping door open for Pogba amid Manchester City interest

“Currently there are no discussions,” began Longoria in a press conference on Wednesday. “There are no talks ongoing with Paul and still no decision. I am not closing the door because he is on the market but there is a whole load of news surrounding Paul. These are more speculation and dreams, rather than a reality,” he added.

The Independent understands that Manchester City are also interested in Pogba, who will be allowed to return to training next month.
