Marseille considering move for Ajax’s Brian Brobbey | OneFootball

Olympique de Marseille are considering a move for Ajax forward Brian Brobbey (22) as they search for a replacement for Elye Wahi (22), according to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.

Wahi who was signed from RC Lens for a fee reported to be €30 million (including performance-related bonuses) looks set to leave the Stade Vélodrome only six months after he arrived. Eintracht Frankfurt are thought to be close to agreeing on a transfer fee for the striker.

If Wahi leaves, Marseille will look to strengthen their attacking options by dipping into the transfer market. However, Hawkins explains that the club do not want to overpay in their search for a new number nine. Marcus Rashford and Mathys Tel were considered but have now been ruled out, while he confirms that the club are also looking at Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez (23).
