Mark Lawrenson has been discussing Newcastle United.
The former Liverpool defender speaking ahead of the match at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.
Newcastle United having played twenty eight matches in total (all competitions) so far this season.
Seventeen wins, five draws and six defeats.
Now set to face Southampton away.
Mark Lawrenson speaking to Paddy Power ahead of Southampton v Newcastle:
“This is the perfect game for Newcastle after getting thrashed at home by Bournemouth.
“Southampton might feel the backlash and they’ve got no way of stopping it either.
“Southampton 0 Newcastle 3”
I wouldn’t disagree with the Mark Lawrenson match outcome prediction, nor indeed pretty much anything else he has said here.
Looking back, Mark Lawrenson predicted Newcastle would lose against Villa on Boxing Day and then forecast a draw at Old Trafford.
He did get up to speed though finally and predicted correctly the wins over Spurs and Wolves, though his ‘comfortable’ Newcastle United to win 3-1 against Bournemouth came a little unstuck. There again, he was in good company in getting that last prediction wrong.
Hopefully today we see both Mark Lawrenson AND Newcastle United back to form.
