Marcus Rashford has become the latest player to be linked with a move to Serie A with AC Milan reportedly interested in signing him from Manchester United.
Several other British stars have made the move over to Italy from the Premier League in recent years and here is how they have fared…

Abraham was an instant hit at Roma, where he scored 17 league goals in his first season with the club after leaving Chelsea and went on to win the UEFA Conference League under Jose Mourinho.
He has since failed to match those levels, however, and after a serious injury which kept him out for much of last season he joined AC Milan on loan for this campaign and scored the winner in the Supercoppa victory over arch-rivals Inter as recently as Monday evening.
The 27-year-old could force his way back into England contention with some impressive performances for Milan with new manager Thomas Tuchel a fan of the striker from their time together at Chelsea.

Another to swap the Premier League for the Italian capital, Smalling enjoyed an excellent first season in Serie A and was considered one of the league’s best defenders.
With his career stalling at Manchester United, Smalling was given a new lease of life at Roma and was named man of the match in the 2022 UEFA Conference League final.
Injuries impacted his second season and despite signing a new contract, he would eventually depart for Saudi Arabia.

One of the great success stories of this season, McTominay has taken Serie A by storm.
Playing a pivotal role under Antonio Conte, the Scotland international has been excellent with Napoli leading the way at the top of the table.
The former Manchester United midfielder has scored five times in 18 appearances this season and has regularly been voted man of the match for Napoli.

Despite his advancing years, Premier League title winner Young performed well at the San Siro, despite initial scepticism from supporters.
Young became only the third Englishman to win the league title in Italy back in 2021 as Inter romped to a first Scudetto in 11 years.
The full back turns 40 in the summer but continues play at the highest level, making 15 appearances for Everton in all competitions this season.
Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan)

The central defender left Chelsea to join AC Milan permanently in 2021 after an initial loan spell, and helped the club to the Serie A title in 2022. Things have been more difficult for Milan lately but he has managed to carve out a successful career in Italy.
He has found himself on the bench of late and is hoping to fight his way back into the first team under new boss Sérgio Conceição.

Another former Chelsea player to depart for Serie A and, more specifically, AC Milan. The 28-year-old recently helped his team to the Supercoppa along with Tomori and Abraham and scored six times in 29 league appearances last season, his first with the club.
Despite Milan’s struggles this season, he has continued to play a significant part in the first team until a recent injury sidelined him.
