Multiple sources claimed over the last few days that the Italian tactician had agreed to become the Brazil coach, as Real Madrid were going to sack him at the end of the season.

Ancelotti had travelled to London to meet the Brazilian Federation and sign his contract, but according to Marca, he informed CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues that he would not accept the offer.

The Spanish newspaper quotes sources close to the negotiations saying that Ancelotti has made it clear that he will not sign with Brazil.

According to the report, Ancelotti has not yet reached an agreement to terminate his contract with Real Madrid in June, but he has also received a €50m-a-year offer from a Saudi side, which convinced him to reject the offer from Brazil.

According to Marca, Ancelotti’s decision is irreversible.

The Italian tactician’s contract with Real Madrid expires in 2026, and the ex-Milan and Roma midfielder will have to clarify the financial details of his exit from the club in the coming weeks.

What Ancelotti said about his future

The Italian tactician has spoken about his future many times in recent weeks, especially after the Champions League exit at the hands of Arsenal earlier this month.

Questioned about his fate at the end of the second leg quarter-final tie against the Gunners, Ancelotti said: “I don’t know it and I don’t want to know it. I won’t leave unless they push me out.”

“And when I leave, in ten days, one month or a year, you’ll only hear a word from me: thanks.”

Ancelotti has won three Champions League titles in Madrid, two in his second spell, which began in 2021.
