Marc Guiu returns to Chelsea | OneFootball

Marc Guiu's time at the Stadium of Light is over after just three games as the player returns to parent club Chelsea.

The 19-year-old had joined Sunderland for the entire 2025/26 season but the Black Cats have now confirmed that he is set to return sooner than expected.

"This has been an unusual situation to navigate, and our priority must always be to act in the best interests of Sunderland AFC," the club's sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said.

"Following discussions with Chelsea, Marc, and his representatives throughout the last 48 hours, we believe we have achieved this outcome and that this decision is in the best interests of all parties. We wish Marc well upon returning to Chelsea, who we continue to enjoy a strong relationship with, and we now move forward."

Guiu played three times in total for Sunderland, netting in the League Cup against Huddersfield Town.
