Marc-André ter Stegen speaks out on relationship with Barcelona teammate Wojciech Szczęsny | OneFootball

Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has this week provided an insight into his relationship with teammate and fellow goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny.

This of course comes ahead of impending competition between the pair for the no.1 gloves in Hansi Flick’s squad.

Ter Stegen is for his part closing on a return to the pitch, following a long-term spell out of action owing to a serious knee injury.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo this week, in fact, the German revealed his hopes of lining out in a competitive setting before the season is out.

Whilst Ter Stegen has been unavailable, the aforementioned Szczęsny has of course stepped up in his place, ousting Iñaki Peña from starting duties on his way to 19 successive appearances without defeat.

With Barca’s captain fully aware that he will need to work to regain first-choice status in Catalunya’s capital, he was in turn recently drawn on his relationship with his Polish teammate.

Speaking to MD, in quotes relaid by Fabrizio Romano, though, Ter Stegen made use of the opportunity to assure:

“Szczesny is doing fantastic. I’m happy as we have had a great relationship since day one.”
