Manchester United intend to remain active in the transfer window and are plotting an ambitious double swoop, as per reports.

With the capture of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, United have now spent over £130 million this summer on just two signings, including Matheus Cunha.

Considering United’s financial predicament and their failure to qualify for a European competition, not many expected Ineos to be very aggressive in the transfer market. However, a report in Spain suggests, the Red Devils are prepared to take their spending beyond the £200m mark.

Manchester United willing to make two top signings

According to Fichajes, United are “planning to shake up the market” by signing both Javi Guerra and Benjamin Sesko in a double swoop worth €105m (£91m).

Guerra has attracted the interest of Europe’s top clubs, including United, with his athleticism and technical prowess.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has less than 24 months remaining on his contract at Mestalla. Valencia are keen to renew his deal, but they have struggled to find an agreement with the midfielder so far.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Guerra has a “verbal agreement” with United over a summer move.

The Spanish outlet claim that United want to secure the defensive midfielder’s services by paying €25m to Valencia.

Manchester United considering spending big on Benjamin Sesko

Fichajes add that United are also looking to finalise the signing Sesko for €80m.

A new striker is understood to be high on Amorim’s agenda even after Mbeumo and Cunha’s arrival.

Sesko is believed to be open to moving to Old Trafford. Still, it remains unclear if €80m will be enough to convince RB Leipzig to part ways with the Slovenian.

The Athletic‘s David Ornstein also recently suggested that United are now focused on signing a striker and defensive-minded midfielder.

However, it is fair to assume Ineos will look to raise funds from sales before splashing more than €100m to further strengthen Amorim’s squad.
