Manchester United have made an opening offer for Jarrad Branthwaite as they look to step up their interest in the Everton defender.
Branthwaite, who was among those cut from England's squad for EURO 2024, has been a long-term target for the Red Devils after enjoying an excellent season.
According to the Athletic's David Ornstein, the Red Devils have now have tabled an initial £35m offer to secure his services from Merseyside.
However, that bid is expected to be rejected, and is viewed as unacceptable by the Toffees, who are holding out for close to double that figure before allowing the centre-back to leave.
