Manchester United reportedly made a summer enquiry into signing Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons on loan.
It was a busy summer for Ineos in their first summer transfer window in charge at Manchester United.
Several new faces were brought into Old Trafford with the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
It has now reportedly been revealed that the Red Devils retained an interest in attacking midfielder Xavi Simons.
Simons had impressive Euros for Holland and was of interest to several clubs including Manchester United.
The young Dutch star can play in a variety of positions and could play in all three attacking positions behind the striker if needed.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to YouTube to reveal that Erik ten Hag and the new Ineos structure at Old Trafford were keen on bringing Simons to Manchester on a loan move.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Before the Euros in June, Manchester United called to ask about the possibility of a loan deal for Xavi Simons and if the player was interested in moving to England, but he wanted to stay in Germany and then probably try something different next summer.”
