An insight into the reasoning behind the delay in La Liga champions Barcelona’s announcement of the signing of Marcus Rashford has been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, and confirms that as much comes owing to a request laid out by Manchester United.

It is of course ‘Rashford Day’ in Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday.

After Barcelona over the weekend worked out the terms of a season-long loan deal for the 27-year-old, he is set to at last be unveiled as the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s squad at any moment.

As much was in fact expected before now, giving rise to confusion across the Blaugrana fanbase.

As alluded to above, though, on Wednesday evening, an explanation for the delay has been provided.

As revealed by journalist Gerard Romero, speaking on his official Twitch channel, Rashford’s parent club Manchester United have requested to see the photos of their player’s presentation and signing alongside Joan Laporta before the Blaugrana make the transfer official.
