In a recent report, BolaVIP stated that Manchester United are planning to move in for Botafogo defender John Victor this off-season. It has been stated that the Red Devils have identified the Brazilian goalie as a target for this summer transfer window.

Victor’s Impressive Rise In Brazilian Football

Victor has enjoyed a decent career at Botofogo as he has managed to catch the eye in goal for them in the Brazilian Serie A. The 29-year-old played in 79 matches for the Brazilian outfit so far, conceding 66 goals and keeping 32 clean sheets across all fronts.

The Diadema-born talent has proven himself to be a solid presence in between the sticks for Botofogo over the past couple of years. Thus, it is no wonder that Man United are showing interest in signing him this summer.

His current contract at the Brazilian club will expire at the end of 2028 which could make it tough for the Red Devils to land him on a cut-price deal in this transfer period.

Is Victor A Good Fit For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Victor is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some solid saves at the back for his team. He usually puts his foot through the ball when being chased down by the opposition defenders and can use his commanding 1.97m frame to dominate his penalty area when coming out to collect loose balls and crosses.

However, the Brazilian sensation might struggle to adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to bring him on board in this transfer window.

We can expect Victor to enhance the quality of Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s goalkeeping department. He is good enough to nail down a regular starting place at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.

At 29, Victor is playing in his prime which makes him a decent fit for Man United’s needs this summer. He would serve as an upgrade over Andre Onana at the Mancunian club in the future. Therefore, it makes sense for Amorim to go all out to lure the Brazilian talent to the Theatre of Dreams this off-season.
