Britain’s 2024 riots are a surprise national crisis. With the football season just around the corner, you can’t blame fans for feeling concerned as mayhem erupts around us.

It will be the first major football fixture since the wave of disorder across the UK.

While there are no planned demonstrations known for Saturday in London, the FA are understood to be working closely with police and local authorities over safety as they do with big events at Wembley.

Olympic Way, which leads to Wembley, will be an alcohol-free zone leading up to the Community Shield.

Fans have also been warned over pyrotechnics, flares and smoke devices.

The UK government has urged the country’s sports clubs to call for an email to the riots that have rocked the nation.

Representatives from Downing Street made a direct request to chiefs from football, rugby, cricket and beyond in a bid to end the violence in a Zoom call on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.

The same report claims clubs across football are currently considering whether they need to step up security at matches.
