Premier League champions Manchester City are expected to sit down with streaming site bosses over the coming weeks and months regarding a new club documentary.

The latest club-produced documentary follows the remarkable success of the club’s deal with global streaming giants Netflix, after footage throughout their Treble-winning season of 2022/23 was sold to the company for reported ‘a seven-figure sum’.

Manchester City had embedded a camera crew within their first team squad, throughout that season, capturing memorable moments including Erling Haaland’s arrival, pre-season in the United States, and of course, the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul, Turkey.

Etihad Stadium bosses are understood to have fielded widespread interest from external companies in purchasing the footage for their own platform, with Netflix ultimately emerging as victors and naming the show, ‘Together: Treble Winners’, and made available in over 200 countries across the globe.

Now, according to MailSport’s Jack Gaughan, a new Manchester City documentary covering the club’s fourth successive Premier League title triumph last season will be the subject of discussions with streaming sites over the coming months.

It is made clear however that the Premier League champions accept that another April release date – similar to their ‘Together: Treble Winners‘ edition released by Netflix this year – would be ‘too long a wait’ again.

Manchester City’s continued push for global publicity is part of the organisation’s plan to disrupt the traditional football giants across the planet, whilst also putting a particular focus on markets in the United States and the Far-East.

Pep Guardiola and his players travelled to the US this summer for their pre-season tour, embarking on a four-game schedule in four different cities, hoping to capture the imagination of a new audience and attract new supporters for the club.

City’s popularity in the USA has soared over the last three seasons, and whilst it has largely been down to the success endured by Pep Guardiola’s side, the marketing panel within the Etihad Stadium have a complex plan executed to perfection.
