As was reported earlier today, Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri is a subject of transfer interest for Real Madrid for the summer of 2025.

The reigning champions of Spain and Europe are looking to replenish their midfield department in the summer next year and have identified the UEFA Euro 2024 winner as a potential target.

Rodri, who has firmly established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the game in recent years, is tied down to Manchester City with a contract that runs until 2027.

On top of that, the Cityzens are pushing him to sign an extension in order to stave off interest from Real Madrid.

Speaking in an interview recently, the 28-year-old opted to keep his cards close to his chest, stating that he is contracted with Manchester City for three more years.

“I have three more years at Man City and when I sign the contract I don’t think of other teams,” said Rodri, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“So I have three more years at Man City, and nothing more to say.”

Rodri, a favourite for the Ballon d’Or alongside Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr., is admired at Real Madrid, with reports even suggesting that club president Florentino Perez himself is prioritising his signing.

However, Manchester City will not make it easy as they have tabled a bumper renewal offer for their prized asset with numbers that Real Madrid will not be able to match.

In case that Rodri does not renew and is open to an exit, the Premier League champions will demand an enormous transfer fee, making it difficult for any suitors.
