Manager: We want to finish off a fantastic US tour with another win | OneFootball

Brendan Rodgers has described Celtic’s pre-season tour of the United States as ‘fantastic, and the manager wants to see his team sign off with a victory against Chelsea tonight (Saturday).

Having beaten DC United 4-0 in Washington DC and followed that up with a 4-3 win over English Premier League champions, Manchester City, in North Carolina, the Hoops are now in Indiana for their final game.

That match will take place at the Notre Dame Stadium, home of the University of Notre Dame’s American Football team, nicknamed the Fighting Irish, and the Celtic boss has praised the facilities his team have enjoyed using.

And he also touched on the connections between Celtic and Notre Dame, with the university’s football team formed in the same year as Celtic.

“In North Carolina we had good training and a great game,” he said. “We’ve recovered and having finished a good training session is this amazing facility, we’re prepared and looking forward to the game.

“When you see the training facility that we’ve just been in, all the students are really fortunate to come and study and play in such brilliant facilities."

And the manager also spoke about how pleased he's been with the way his squad have been working, both in training sessions and in the matches they've played.

“I think I mentioned that earlier on in pre-season that we weren’t at our level in terms of pressing, because it’s so important – that defines how good you are in attack, how well you’re pressing and working," he said.

"So, for us, it’s more of the same. The players have been absolutely superb all over the course of pre-season but in particular over this tour we’ve had here.

"Our game is based around that pressure and intensity because when we play with that, then you can see it’s the same rhythm with the ball and we look very effective.

"We’ve been scoring goals, we’ve been really creative and working well, but there’s still a bit of work for us to do before we arrive to where we want to be against Kilmarnock.

The manager also confirmed that American internationalist, Cameron Carter-Vickers, will be involved in tonight's game against Chelsea.
