There will be a new winner of the Women’s FA Cup final on Sunday afternoon when Manchester United take on Tottenham at Wembley Stadium.

Marc Skinner’s side have been here before, but they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in last year’s showpiece. For Tottenham, this is entirely new territory as they contend their first ever final in the competition.

United had a tough run to the final as they fought against WSL opposition in two of their three games in earlier rounds. That included current holders and five-time winners Chelsea at the semi-final stage.

Spurs, on the other hand, knocked out Manchester City on penalties in the quarter-finals. They then required a late goal deep into extra time to edge past Leicester City 2-1 in the semi-finals.

Here's 90min's preview of Sunday’s FA Cup final.

Skinner revealed in his pre-match press conference he expects a fully fit squad on Sunday, barring the long-term injuries of Gabby George and Emma Watson.

"As far as we're aware as we sit right now, everybody - barring the longer-term injuries - is available so that is positive news," the United boss told reporters. "Everybody's available for the squad and that's nice going into a final."

Spurs will be without WSL Player of the Season nominee Grace Clinton for the final as the 21-year-old is ineligible to face her parent club. However, manager Robert Vilahamn will be boosted by the return of Amy James-Turner, who is back in contention.

“Everybody trained this afternoon [Thursday 9 May] and trained the whole session, so everybody is ready for Wembley,” the Spurs boss said this week. “[Amy] has been one of the best players in the last couple of months, so it’s very good to have her back as she has been so important for us.”

Man Utd vs Tottenham score prediction

United are clear favourites for this fixture, but an underwhelming league campaign and recent results very much suggests Skinner’s side aren’t quite at the level displayed in previous campaigns. The Manchester club were beaten by Liverpool last time out and it took an outrageous second-half strike from Ella Toone to overcome Leicester City at the King Power.

Spurs also held United to a 2-2 draw at Leigh Sports Village in their WSL meeting last month. Make no mistake, this final will be no straightforward affair for United.

However, their slight edge in terms of experience will no doubt be what gets them over the line on Sunday. It may take until extra time or even penalties to separate these two teams, but United have the upper hand.
