According to Football Insider, the Bees are readying a new offer to tempt the Suffolk outfit into a sale after their attempt to trigger the player’s release clause failed.

Hutchinson has been with the Tractor Boys for two seasons, joining on a permanent basis in the 2024 summer transfer window.

He featured 32 times in the Premier League in Kieran McKenna’s side last season, with the team suffering relegation with a 19th place finish.

Brentford eye fresh Hutchinson approach

Brentford are reportedly set to return with a fresh offer to sign Hutchinson from Ipswich this summer.

The London outfit made an initial bid which was worth the value of the winger’s release clause, £35 million, but it had expired and was no longer applicable.

This led to Ipswich rejecting the offer, giving the Championship side a lot more leverage in negotiations than if they had made this attempt to sign Hutchinson when it was still active.

However, despite this setback, Brentford are still keen to sign the forward and are now looking to make an improved offer due to the completion of Mbeumo’s move to Old Trafford.

It was reported by ESPN that Man United paid £70 million to sign the Cameroon international, who was a key part of the Brentford side prior to his exit.

New manager Keith Andrews is hoping that Hutchinson can replace Mbeumo, with the Irishman looking to maintain the Bees in the top half of the Premier League table.

Ipswich’s summer business

Liam Delap was Ipswich’s first major departure of the summer, with the forward leaving after Chelsea successfully triggered his release clause.

But McKenna has also added the likes of Azor Matusiwa, David Button and Cedric Kipre to his side for the upcoming campaign.

The Tractor Boys will be aiming to fight for promotion straight back to the Premier League.

Their season starts on 8 August with a trip to face Birmingham City.

Ipswich hold the cards in Omari Hutchinson negotiations

This has worked out well for Ipswich as they can now command a bigger fee for Hutchinson than if his release clause was still active.

A deal in the region of £40 million would be great business for the Championship side, as it would be a considerable profit on the fee paid to sign him 12 months ago.

Losing Hutchinson would be a blow for Ipswich, but the wealth of attacking disposal at their talent means it won’t be a massive dent in their promotion hopes.

McKenna’s side still have the likes of Sammie Szmodics, Chiedozie Ogbene, Conor Chaplin, George Hirst, Nathan Broadhead, Jaden Philogene and Jack Clarke to choose from when it comes to threatening attacking talents.
